Which brand is the Best Rice Cooker?
There are a few poorly designed rice cookers available, though I think Panasonic had the best, except I can't find any Panasonic Rice cookers, I've looked everywhere. did they go out of business? What is the second best rice cooker available?

I have a 3 cup White Westinghouse rice cooker. It was inexpensive, and I've had it for several years and never had a problem with it. It is reliable and not too big, which is great for storage. I am completely happy with it. The White Westinghouse brand is sold at KMart and I think WalMart.

Suggestions for rice cooker rice?
I just got a wonderful new Panasonic rice cooker and with very little intervention on my part it makes beautiful rice. The thing is I am not used to cooking with beautiful rice yet! What can I add to the rice after it's done that won't ruin that fluffy texture? I added some peanut oil, water and green curry paste today along with the carrots that steamed with the rice, and it ended up goopy. Dry ingredients instead? What's good?

First of all, I always wash and drain the rice to get rid of any dirt or other undesirable things in it. Also, this helps keep it from sticking together. Depending on what you are eating, replace the water you put in the rice with beef broth, chicken broth, or vegetable broth. Use an equal amount of liquid as the rice you measured. Add uncooked vegetables and turn it on. Your rice will come out fluffy and very tasty. Use long grain or Basmati rice. Also, always stir your rice with a fork, never a spoon and do this often and it will not come out "goopy".

Where can i find rice cooker spare parts and accessories?
for panasonic rice cooker

I found parts at partstore.com. Their website doesn't provide a link for "rice cookers" but if you call them at 1-866-925-PART(7278), and give them the model number, they'll be able to help.

How to use a rice cooker?
I purchased a panasonic rice-o-mat at a yard sale and it didn't have directions. It has the electric outside base,a top, a metal inside bowl, a small plastic cup, and a plate with holes in it.Can anyone tell me what the pieces are for, how they're used and rice/water ratios?

Rinse the rice and drain the water out. normally, one cup jasmine rice or other similar "oriental" rice to one cup water. Push button and let it cook . . . when the button pops up. it is finished. You can add a little salt to the water. 2 cups rice - - - 2 cups water 3 cups rice - - - 3 cups water tc etc . . . I can't say how many cups of rice you can cook in your pot, but there should be something written on the side of the rice pot marking how many cups. Shoyo sauce or sprinkle a little nori and eat. http://www.kgrocer.com/ajinorifurikake-19oz.aspx The plate with holes is for steaming vegetables. Place metal plate in pot. Wash vegetables . . . Add vegetables like brocolli, carrots, potatoes, and only 1 cup water. Push button and let it cook. When button pops up, it is finished. Simple . . .
